The short answer
Malaysia's published entry-requirements document states that visitors should have a valid return ticket to their home country or another country. That makes return or onward evidence relevant for short visits.
What else matters
- Passport validity and recognition.
- A visa if your nationality requires one.
- Sufficient funds for the visit.
- Malaysia Digital Arrival Card requirements where applicable.
- The immigration officer retains the final entry decision.
What makes onward evidence useful
The document should show a credible departure from Malaysia and remain valid when it may be checked. A PDF that expires before check-in or has no usable reservation trail may not solve the actual travel problem.
Run the live route check
Use the checker to combine your passport, departure country, destination, purpose and travel date before deciding whether to arrange a reservation.
